With over 25 years of experience performing venous treatments, board-certified physician Gregory Azia, MD, is known for helping patients resolve minor to complex vein issues. Dr. Azia serves as the medical director at We're So Vain in New London, Connecticut.
After completing his undergraduate degree at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York, Dr. Azia was accepted to Albany Medical College in New York, where he earned his Doctor of Medicine. Dr. Azia then went through his internship, followed by a general surgery residency at the Yale-New Haven Hospital, Saint Raphael Campus in Connecticut. He’s now board certified by the American Board of Surgery.
Since 1993, Dr. Azia has served as a general surgeon and attending physician at Lawrence + Memorial Hospital in New London, Connecticut. He’s also the section chief of general surgery and the previous section chief of vascular surgery at the same hospital.
Additionally, Dr. Azia is the director of the Lawrence + Memorial Hospital Vascular Lab. He’s a Registered Physician in Vascular Interpretation®, with his office being accredited by the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission for vascular laboratories.
Dr. Azia treats all aspects of vascular disease, with special interests in new, minimally invasive techniques for varicose veins and other venous diseases. Since We’re So Vain serves as a regional training center for endovenous ablation, Dr. Azia trains medical school graduates and other physicians about modern vein treatments.
